Madrid, June 30, 2021 2nd Quirónsalud Conference on Research Hospital Universitario Fundación Jiménez Díaz

Convinced of the importance of research and innovation as a means of improving health-care delivery, the Quirónsalud Group recognized the winners of the 3rd edition of the Quirónsalud Research Award and the Quirónsalud Foundation Awards for Excellence in Innovation and Digital Transformation in Health Care to promote health research, biomedical research, health-care innovation, and digital transformation. The awards were given out on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 in the main lecture hall of Hospital Universitario Fundación Jiménez Díaz as part of the 2nd Quirónsalud Research Conference.

The event included a special appearance by Dr. Rafael Yuste, who delivered the keynote lecture titled “Novel neurotechnologies: implications for science, medicine and society.” Dr. Yuste is a renowned professor and researcher at Columbia University (New York) and a key promoter of the US Brain Initiative, a project aiming to map the human brain created by President Barack Obama.

Quirónsalud Research Awards

For the third year running, Quirónsalud has called for submissions to the company’s research awards, which aim to recognize scientific excellence among Quirónsalud staff members.

This year’s edition includes the following:

  • Quirónsalud Research Awards: in recognition of outstanding research in health-care delivery among Quirónsalud employees as demonstrated in publications, doctoral theses, and conference papers.
  • Quirónsalud grants for training stays: open to all Quirónsalud Group employees who, with an innovative spirit, look to perfect their knowledge within the realms of patient care and biomedical research.
  • Program providing grants for research intensification: to enable employees working in Quirónsalud care facilities to combine care delivery and research output without compromising on either.

These awards are a means of recognizing and stimulating all Quirónsalud Group staff members who, with an innovative spirit, look to contribute to scientific advancement in a way that improves patient care and offers more effective and efficient solutions in resource management.

Submissions for the award were received from January 25 to April 30, 2021.

Quirónsalud Foundation Awards for Excellence in Innovation and Digital Transformation in Health Care

In parallel fashion, and to further knowledge through innovation and digital transformation, the Quirónsalud Foundation has issued a call for submissions for the company’s Awards for Excellence in Innovation and Digital Transformation in Health Care. With these awards, the company seeks to drive projects that foster innovation in care delivery and the use of novel technologies in the Spanish health-care system. The award is open to submissions from all professionals in the health-care industry, both public and private. The purpose of these awards is to give visibility to these initiatives within our professional and academic environment and disseminate their results and conclusions.

Submissions for the award were received from March 1 to April 30, 2021.
